Bifocal safety glasses put a magnified reading segment at the bottom of the lens and leave the top clear. Sounds like a small thing. It isn't. What it actually fixes is the habit of pushing your glasses up onto your forehead every time you need to read a mark — and that moment, glasses off, eyes exposed, is when most job site eye injuries happen.
Look for an ANSI Z87.1 rating in the US, or CSA Z94.3 in Canada. Around $25 to $40 a pair. Buy three: one in the truck, one in the bag, one you'll lose.
